— born in london as the youngest of three, his parents the heads of a fairly large hotel business. they were fairly wealthy, he had two older siblings (a brother and sister) who he was very close to. growing up, he was able to travel with his family a lot and generally really enjoyed his earliest years - however, when he was six his brother suddenly became very ill and died; this left the whole family devastated. just two years later, at age eight, his family moved to versailles france - kadin had already begun learning the language beforehand (he's currently fluent). while in france, kadin seemed to go through brief depressive episodes and began acting up - this especially became common once he hit puberty - but it seemed things couldn't get any worse than when his sister too died unexpectedly in a car accident. kadin ended up having a massive breakdown. within a few months of this the family decided to make the move to america, and kadin was enrolled in badlands prep.

ok if there's a strict dress code but no uniform, kadin is gonna be both a) relieved because he's always had uniforms and b) will most definitely always break the dress code either on accident or on purpose (at some point he will try to go barefoot or if it's like my school and they're not allowed to wear flip flops / moccasins he'll def break the shoe policies a lot)

also i was watching the sound of music and 'how do you solve a problem like maria" makes me think of kadin sm tho ?? i can imagine him just generally being a stubborn little fuck and even tho he's a total pacifist i can see him starting shit w like teachers and staff for not following rules and just generally being a nuisance to all adults

they both definitely share an independent, adventurous spirit - he'll definitely appreciate that at the very least. they also share a similar social awkwardness they can totally bond over. he might be slightly intimidated by her high intelligence (i say myself he's one of those ex-gifted children if you're catching my drift, he's a little above average intelligence wise but not incredibly so) also their both bilingual (though they both only share english it's still cool imo) overall he will probably really like her. he'll probably try to out sarcasm her and tease her a bit but overall will really appreciate their simlarities
